Fluentbody

What is Fluentbody™?

“Fluentbody™ is a combination of movement and somatic exploration that helps people to be generous to their body and mind. I will take you on a soulful journey through Fluentbody, exploring the language, wisdom and power of our bodies. Using a combination of powerful and gentle movements, rhythms and breathing techniques, we open the doors to physical and emotional sensations. From there, we investigate how to allow ourselves to be truly authentic – to explore, be, breathe and connect without the constraints of right or wrong.

We invite qualities such as lightness, playfulness and pleasure. Emotional processes can be part of the journey, you decide for yourself which intensity you allow. Fluentbody™ helps you navigate through feelings such as tiredness and heaviness, feeling disconnected from your body or feeling blocked, and can reduce chronic pain. This practice helps you to be gentle and generous to your body, to feel your needs better, to develop your potential and to feel more alive.

What happens in a Fluentbody™-Session?

Together we move to music for an hour. I invite you to immerse yourself in a somatic experience with the help of pictures, individual and partner exercises that flow into each other. The community experience in the group plays a major role in this and yet each person experiences the movement journeys very individually.
In the course of the session, there are quiet and more energetic phases and an integration phase in the end.

Does Fluentbody™ fit to me?

Fluentbody™ can be practiced by everyone. You don’t need any previous experience in the somatic or dance field.

I will accompany the sessions in English. If your English skills are rather low, you can still participate. Since I myself embody the impulses, you will be able to participate well in the journey even without understanding all the words.

You are invited throughout the session to pay attention to your own needs and adapt the exercises so that the physical or emotional intensity feels right for you. If your body has individual limitations, for example due to injuries, I encourage you to adjust the exercises accordingly. In partner and group exercises, we give special attention on consensus and you have the possibility of not going into contact with the other participants.

If you are already intensively involved with your body, for example in dance or other movement practices, Fluentbody with its somatic approach can be a valuable addition.

More about Fluentbody™

Fluentbody™ was found by Florencia Lamarca. Since 2021, she has been teaching aspiring practitioners in the Teacher Training in Berlin. Her experience in the field of somatic bodywork (Grinberg and Pantarei) and her deep involvement with dance and movement in dance companies (especially with the movement language GAGA, Bat-Sheva Dance Company) influence the method.
